FIECO is an established exporter of Canadian farmed softwood forest products. Trees that are harvested for the manufacture of forest products are replaced with plantings of indigenous species to ensure sustainability of the forest resources. The province of British Columbia (BC) alone replants about 200 million trees annually, approximately 5 trees are planted for each tree that is harvested for production of lumber. Canada relies on professional foresters, biologists, botanists, agriculturalists, and engineers to make collaborative decisions about forest practices to protect biodiversity, fish & wildlife habitats, soils, water, and community watersheds.
Softwood tree species which are used in manufacturing forest products available from FIECO include:
Western Red Cedar
Douglas Fir / Western Larch
Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF)
