Western White Pine (Pinus monticola) has wood that is light colored, straight-grained, and uniform textured.
Western White Pine was almost eradicated when the white pine blister rust disease swept across the Pacific northwest. As a result, it is not a common softwood species on the lumber market. When available, it is cut primarily for use in applications such as:
· Windows
· Doors
· Boxes
· Furniture
· Moldings
· Knotty paneling
· Rustic interior furniture
